Clouds are more diverse than you think. Below is a list of the different types of clouds and what they do.

The Clouds In The Sky

There are approximately 10 different types of clouds to be found in the sky above, each with its own unique shape and set of characteristics. For example, Cumulus clouds are the ones that look like cotton wool. They drift lazily through the sky on sunny days with no threat of releasing snow or rain onto the unsuspecting public below.

Cumulonimbus clouds on the other hand are dark and rugged, often shaped like a blacksmith’s anvil. These are the types of clouds, which bring heavy rain, sleet, snow and even hailstones in sudden, dramatic downpours.

Cirrus clouds however are those clouds that look like wispy brush strokes in the air. The serve no weather related purpose, but are by far the prettiest of all the clouds.

Cloud Server Hosting

Cloud server hosting takes its name from the weather type of cloud, but serves a very different purpose. Cloud server hosting is a process whereby people and businesses store the digital files remotely (like a cloud) rather than locally in order to keep them safe from natural disaster, human error and viruses. Companies who host cloud servers often incorporate other services in to the packages they sell including 24/7 monitoring, regular updates, full online support and recovery to ensure the safety of your server.

Cloudscaping

Cloudscaping is the term given in art to the depiction of clouds in a painting or a photograph. Some artists choose to depict clouds accurately, as viewed from earth, others are less literal with their depiction and instead choose to free hand or express their own interpretation of what a cloud is. Clouds are important in art, especially landscapes as they aid in giving context to a piece. Storm clouds are very different to wispy light clouds, one shows light, the other dark. A mood a of painting can be entirely influenced by the depiction of the sky.
