LED Demister Mirrors: Questions & Answers

Would you like your morning grooming routine to be hassle-free?

It is no longer necessary to cut your shower time short to prevent the fogging up of the LED bathroom mirror, or disappear to a second bathroom to apply your makeup or take a shave.

To eliminate the fighting over who goes first in the shower, and to avoid an unsightly messy, streaky mirror consider installing led demister mirrors or cabinets.

What is the advantage of a demister mirror?

An LED demister mirror enables you to enjoy a beautiful bathroom after every bath or shower.  Heat applied to the mirror by the demister prevents the mirror from becoming steamed up, leaving you with a crystal clear view.  The frustrating task of constantly wiping away the mist from the mirror whilst using it is no more!

What is a demister?

The bathroom mirror demister is a thin electric heating pad that is mounted behind your bathroom mirror to prevent it from fogging up. By heating the mirror it will keep your bathroom clear in the steamiest of conditions even if the doors are closed and the fan is off.

How does a demister work?

The demister is connected to the existing lighting circuit in the bathroom, or the extractor fan circuit.  The demister is then operated when the light is switched on, warming up the mirror to keep it clear.

Are these mirrors costly to run?

The running costs of a demister are negligible, however based on the average of an hours use per day will only cost 2 to 3 pence per week to run.  This is a very small price to pay for the luxury of permanent fog free mirrors.

A misted up mirror brings condensation to the room, which in time could cause mould, which can be difficult to remove.  Avoiding a misty bathroom with a led demister mirror eliminates this worry and could reduce unforeseen redecoration costs in the future.

Does the demister get hot?

Similar to the heated rear window in a car, the heater pad delivers a small amount of head behind the mirror to raise the surface temperature.  Just above body temperature is sufficient to prevent condensation and a fogged up mirror.

Does a demister effect the cleaning of the mirror?

You will never have to use your hand or towel to wipe over the mirror again to free it of condensation.  This will also prolong the life of your mirror eliminating the wear and tear that can be caused when the mirror is wiped when wearing jewellery for example.  Your cleaning times will be cut down too now there is no need to fight those constant smudges and smears.
