As I was walking along the path the other day, I heard the rumble of a Harley Davidson. I turned around to see it was actually a low go-kart type vehicle with two passengers in. It was open roofed and looked like great fun. It got me thinking about how cars were 50 years ago and about just how many different types of vehicle you can get today. Here are my top 5 vehicles.
Detachable Caravan
I think this is truly amazing. It’s a two seater car that is practical and eco-friendly. This car is perfect for couples as it’s only a two seater. This could put you off, but I’m sure it will win you over when you find out it has a detachable caravan. Many cars have had a connection on the back of them so that you can attach a caravan or trailer, but this is different. The caravan actually fits onto the car to create one vehicle in two parts.
This vehicle is designed by Christian Susana and is marketed under the name Colim. It may not be the most attractive thing to see driving down the motorway, but it definitely has a futuristic feeling to it.
Stretch Limo
This isn’t your ordinary stretch limo. Imagine a big night on the town and you want to enjoy your night out in style. You want lots of champagne, hot tubs, sundecks and pure glamour. What if you could have all this in the limousine, on the way to the club?!
Yes, that’s right. A travel in style company in the States has created the world’s longest Limo. It’s over 100 feet long (That’s more than 30 meters!), and boasts a range of exciting features. Including;

• Dual Driver’s Cabins at each end (For reversing)

Wheelchair Friendly Vehicles
You can buy many wheelchair accessible vehicles, most of them having seats that go down and have a ramp installed so that you can wheel a disabled driver into the car. That’s all well and good, but what about disabled drivers? This is one of the best adapted vehicles that you can buy. A car that requires no footwork at all. It is perfect for drivers who may not have any use of their legs, or struggle to use them.
The steering wheel is adapted to have all the controls of the pedals in front of you, so you can have a comfortable and safe journey with everything you need right in front of you. Wheelchair accessible vehicles are not limited either. These are not necessarily created as an adapted car however, it is something that can be done to any manual or automatic car. So you could have your favourite model adapted!
The controls are simple to use. They work around a lever that runs on a push to accelerate and pull to break basis, so there is not a great deal of heavy controls.
Car Boat
Readers who live by the coast would love to own one of these. It’s a sports car which can do more than one sport. It can travel up to 120MPH on land, and at the flick of a button, turns into a propeller powered boat.
This car is the ultimate gadget which will make you feel like a secret agent as you’re cruising along with the jet skis. There’s also great news for the environment, as it is powered by natural gases. The Rinspeed Splash was created by a Swiss genius names Frank M. Rinderknecht.
Vespa/VW Campervan Hybrid
If you’re not a fan of cars then how about a Vespa for your journeys? Jay Dyer of Middlesex customised his Vespa’s side car so that he could take his 11 year old son around the country. He made it in the style of a VW camper van so that his son could travel in retro style!
It took Dyer two years to complete the project but he says it was worth it. “No one has ever seen anything like it and it’s a great feeling to see the look on people’s daces once they realise it’s a miniature camper van’.
