What Gifts Can You Personalise?

We live in a society where your ordinary object is 10 times better if it is personalised, it’s strange. It got me thinking about when personalised kids gifts were the only things you used to see with names on as opposed to today where you can stick your name on almost anything professionally. I personally think it is a male thing. They seem to love branding something as their own, it’s like they’re marking their territory.

I decided to look at some weird things that men personalise, when the item would still be perfectly good if it was not!

Number Plates
People have been doing this for a while but it is becoming especially popular recently. You can get approved personalised number plates with almost any letter/number combination. They’re not cheap though, with some Personalised number platecosting nearly £1,000.

Beer Glasses
Everyone has a local pub with regulars that spend the best part of their lives drinking in it. I know about this personally as I worked in a bar for a few years. We had regular guys who had names engraved on pint glasses. Why?! What is so important about the glass you drink out of?

Music Players
When iPods first hit the market there was a weird craze about where people were taking their iPods to the shop and having them engraved. They have metal casing but I still wouldn’t want to risk it!

Cufflinks
Anyone can get a cheap pair of cufflinks from a shop but a lot of men like to have them personalised. It is tradition at weddings for the best man to receive some cufflinks or something similar from the Bride and Groom. 9 times out of 10 these are personalised.

It’s clear that there is a lot more to personalisation than we realised! However, if you are looking for personalised kids gifts for a birthday or wedding that might be coming up, be sure to check out Illustrate My Name who offer a wide range of perfect presents.
