What To Make For Easter This Year

Easter is the perfect opportunity to get out the crafting box, odds and ends and polystyrene shapes. Making Easter related objects and food can be fun and rewarding, but what do you make? I decided to take a look at some ideas of things you can make, alone or with the kids.

Easter EggsP1020492

Easter eggs are a staple of the season but why buy one when you can have so much fun making one yourself? You can buy Easter egg moulds easily and cheap on the internet and in craft shops. All you have to do is melt your favourite brand of chocolate into the mould and wait for it set. Once your two halves are set, decorate them (This will be easier when they are separated) using icing and different coloured chocolates and sweets. Once they are decorated, all you have to do is melt the edges and stick the two halves together. Wrap in clear plastic and ribbon for a perfect Easter treat.

Easter Characters

When you think of Easter you think of little bunnies and chicks and all things fluffy and cute. Why not make some? Using polystyrene shapes as the base, creating your character becomes 10 times easier. Simply glue a polystyrene ball to a smaller one and you have the basis of a chick. Now you can go wild with the yellow feathers and googly eyes!

Easter Bird Nest Cakes

Similar to rice crispy and corn flake cakes, shredded wheat can be covered with milk chocolate to make a tasty treat. Melt the chocolate until runny and warm then mix in the broken up shredded wheat. Once covered and cooling slightly it should be easy to mould into your desired shape. The possibilities are endless of what you can make; why not wrap some of the mixture around a rolling pin and then slide off creating a nest? Leave them to cool and then once dry you can add milk chocolate eggs to finish off you Bird Nest Cakes. Simple.

We hope that we have given you lots of idea about what to make for Easter. If you need any polystyrene shapes, crafting card or any other essentials for your Easter crafts, visit http://cc-craft.co.uk
